I have decided: I can't do it all!

I have just come back from Hollywood Ahoy! It was interesting, enjoyable, and living on the Queen Mary for a weekend was a trip, so to speak. Lots of lovely dolls as far as the eye could see. Lots of wonderful things to buy which I almost made it out without doing, more of which later. I even sold several things.

HOWEVER, I have to give up dolling for the duration. A concert is a major undertaking and, yes, it can bury you, at least professionally, if you don't do a spectacular job. I don't want that to happen in this case. This could be my last chance to do this and I'd really love to make it a memorable occasion—but in a good way!

Therefore, it requires my complete attention and every ounce of energy I can muster. I started my exercise program seriously this morning—a brisk walk—and did an hour's practice after work this afternoon. That has to be my daily program from now till October 10 and maybe even longer if I feel good about how it went. Even more so if anyone is interested in hearing it somewhere else.

So what does this mean, being as this is a blog about Dolly Diva Designs, not a real life ex-Diva trying to do her thing for a little while longer since she still seems to have the pipes and further, it seems she can still play 'em rather respectably? It means back to the nose/grindstone days of yore. Singing, no matter how easy it may look, is HARD PHYSICAL WORK, not to mention the enormous amount of vocal gymnastics which takes practice, practice, practice to look and sound as easy as falling off a log!

No time for dolly divas or designing until the people diva part is over. I will report in now and again, but it will be all music all the time till after October 10.
